Successful Completion of WASH Project in Ogade: P&G and HFHSA Deliver Vital Sanitation Facilities

The successful handover of the WASH project on February 20th 2024, marked a significant milestone in improving sanitation for a rural school in Ogade, Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. Through the partnership between Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Habitat for Humanity South Africa (HFHSA), the school now has a fully functional ablution block for girls, ensuring a safer and healthier learning environment.

Access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene is a fundamental right, and this project reflects both organizations’ commitment to transparency, responsible sourcing, and human rights. By delivering much-needed infrastructure, HFHSA continues to build strength, stability, and self-reliance within communities.

A crucial part of the project’s success was the stakeholder consultation process, which took place on April 30, 2024. This session brought together the ward councillor, school governing body (SGB), school leadership, and Okhahlamba local municipality officials to discuss and approve the project’s design. With their support, the WASH facility was successfully constructed and delivered.

HFHSA expresses its sincere gratitude to P&G, donors, and all stakeholders who contributed to this initiative. Their collective efforts are making a real difference by providing dignified and sustainable sanitation solutions to South Africa’s underserved communities.
