Volunteer Build Event Registration

Habitat for Humanity SA warmly welcomes volunteer groups who wish to help building homes for low-income people and will support you every step of the way.

How does it work?

Annually, we host six ‘themed builds’ for corporate teams. During the week of the Build, teams of 10 volunteers are assigned to a house to assist the builder in their activities with unskilled manual labour. Tasks on site include: brick- laying, mixing of cement, moving of bricks and sand, bagging walls, bag washing, clearing of site, etc. Most active citizens do not have technical skills but are willing to do manual labour throughout the 5 days.

The Volunteer Build Event Program is a vital catalyst for broader, long-term development of the families and communities we serve, uplifting families from shelter poverty to stability and self-reliance. Participation cost includes catering (morning tea and lunch), working tools, safety hats and reflective vests.

Who can volunteer?

We welcome all people that are 16 years old or older. You and your volunteer team do not need any prior construction experience.
