New Habitat for Humanity SA Staff Members

Habitat for Humanity SA has been blessed with new family members! Meet the newcomers:

Section One

Kanyanta

Kanyanta Kapwepwe – Finance & Administration Manager

Kanyanta comes to Habitat SA with over 11 years of work experience in the NGO industry and has worked on various donor funded projects, including SIDA, USAID, PEPFAR and UKAID. He has worked in various international organisations including Sonke Gender Justice where he was involved in financial management, Grants compliance and capacity development, planning, training, coordinating and facilitation of the implementation of capacity building assessments to partner organisations within Africa. He was also involved in the development of organisational capacity building strategies and planning to support identified needs, deliver Organisational Development training and provide customised mentoring at organisational and individual levels.

Kanyanta also worked for VSO International where he performed a key role in providing technical assistance and support to organisational partners within Africa. He has vast experience in Financial Management, risk assessment and mitigation, performance monitoring including annual reassessments of the organisations and its partners to ensure quality is maintained and milestones are met.

He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA-Finance) and is a USAID Grant Certified Accountant.

Fiona

Fiona Pienaar – Accountant

Fiona Pienaar is born and bred in Cape Town, she received her qualification in Financial Accounting from The South African College of Business (SACOB) 2012 (NQF Level 6 Financial Accounting.)

She has been in the Financial Sector since 2003. Fiona is a current member of the South African Institute of Business Accountants under the designation of BA (SA).

Fiona has vast exposure and experience in the NPO sector and has a passion for making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. This is clearly seen in the fact that, Fiona is also a board member of a Refugee NGO which assists the both refugees and asylum seekers in an around the Cape Town area.

Before embarking on a professional career Fiona spent 5 years as a missionary traveling to countries like Namibia, Thailand and Zambia and teaching biblical principles to the locals of that particular country.

Simphiwe

Simphiwe Kamnqa - Financial Administrator

Simphiwe Kamnqa joins Habitat SA as a Financial Administrator. He primary responsibility is the day to day financial administrative functions of the organization, while supporting accurate and timely accounting entries and report submissions. His role is critical in ensuring that accounts are paid timeously, as well as to implement and enforce Habitat SA’s financial policies, systems and financial controls.

Simphiwe has over 14 years post qualification experience in financial administration. He has worked for various corporate organisations including Capitec Bank and University of Cape Town. Throughout his career he has been exemplary in ensuring that organisational transactions are accurately captured and that internal control procedures are followed diligently. He also has experience in contributing positively toward attaining good organisational audit results.

Simphiwe holds a National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting.
